Where is the Ability Capsule in Insurgence? ›

Once you've finished the game, Ability Capsules can be purchased at Chansey Supply Shops for 100,000 dollars. Chansey Supply Shops are located in Mesagoza, Cascarrafa, Levincia, and Montenevera. There's also a chance for a Capsule to drop in 5 Stars (or higher) Tera Raid Battles.

Effect: It has the ability to change a Pokémon's ability to their Hidden Ability if taken to a Dream Guru. Conversely, it also has the ability to change a Pokémon's Hidden Ability to their Primary Ability if taken to a Waking Guru.

You can only acquire hidden ability Pokemon from the Friend Safari. Their encounter rate is about 1/5. Later on, once you get one you can breed it for more hidden ability Pokemon of the same species. Egg Generator in EGGLOCKE, requires you to create a new game, but you can build that dream team.

An Ability Capsule is an item that can be used on a Pokémon to switch between its two normal Abilities. It cannot be used if the Pokémon has its Hidden Ability, or if it has only one normal Ability. It cannot be used to change a Pokémon's Ability into its Hidden Ability (this is instead done using an Ability Patch).

Ability Capsule can be bought at the Chansey Supply shops around Paldea for ₽100,000. This item will be available post-credits, which is when you finish the entire game.

It has a unique ability called Protean Maxima. This ability allows it to transform into any Eeveelution at the start of a turn, regardless of its Speed stat.

The Ability Capsule can only be used on a Pokémon that belongs to a species that has two standard Abilities. For example, it can be used to change a Pidgey's Ability from Keen Eye to Tangled Feet (or vice versa), but it cannot be used on a Pikachu (whose standard Ability is always Static).

Using an Ability Patch

Ability Patches can be used to change a normal Ability to a Hidden Ability, and you can also use them to switch its Hidden Ability to a regular Ability. Ability Patches are valuable resources that you should only use when doing competitive breeding or training.

Using an Ability Patch on a Pokémon gives it its Hidden Ability (unless its species does not have one). Pokémon encountered in grass patches that have more grass shaking off via the Poké Radar will have their Hidden Ability, if their species has one.

Secret Bases can be accessed by interacting with the backs of bookshelves on the bottom floor of any Pokémon center, or top floor of any PokéMall. Immediately after purchasing their Secret Base, the player is given the Tablet.

Today, The Pokemon Company made another one available, and it can be claimed with the code T0KUSE1STUDY. That code will grant players an Ability Capsule, which is actually pretty handy. Ability Capsules can be used to change a Pokemon's Ability type, though it does not work for Hidden Abilities.

The Ability Patch can be gained by completing 6-Star Tera Raids. It has an extremely low drop rate, so it might take Scarlet/Violet players more than one 6-Star Raid to complete before obtaining one.
